H Dupont Serti N – spirit based gutta 250ml

Clear solvent-based gutta, made from latex rubber, serves as an essential barrier in silk painting, preventing dyes from bleeding into one another. When applied to the fabric, it forms crisp outlines around different elements, helping to define the shapes in the design.

To thin the spirit-based gutta for smoother application, H Dupont Essence F is the ideal solvent. After the silk painting has been steam-set, Essence F is also useful for removing the gutta, which may remain slightly sticky. For a thorough removal, you can soak the painted fabric in white spirit, followed by a thorough rinse, or opt to have it dry-cleaned this will completely dissolve the gutta.
