100ml H Dupont Anti-fusant (water-based)

An anti-fusant, or anti-spread solution, serves as a primer in freestyle silk painting by controlling the natural flow of colours. Since silk is highly absorbent, dyes tend to spread easily across its surface, making it challenging to achieve precise designs. Applying an anti-spread solution before painting transforms the texture of the silk, making it behave more like paper, allowing for better control.

To apply the anti-fusant, use a broad brush to evenly coat the silk fabric. Once the solution is fully dried, you can begin painting with H Dupont Classique dyes. After the painting is complete and the dyes are set through steam fixation, rinse the fabric gently in water. While the fabric is still damp, iron it to restore its natural softness and flexibility. Brushes used for applying the anti-fusant can be rinsed clean with water.
