Deka Silk Paints

Deka Silk paints are specifically designed for use on finely woven natural fabrics, with a particular focus on silk. The range offers a wide selection of mediums and gutta outliners to enhance your creative possibilities. To set the paint, simply use a heat iron.
This fluid paint spreads naturally when it touches the fabric, but you can control the flow more precisely by treating the fabric with an anti-spread primer beforehand. Another effective way to guide the paint is by using a silk paint outliner, which creates a barrier on the fabric to contain the paint within specific areas. To use the outliner, trace the elements of your design, ensuring the outline is continuous with no gaps. Once the outliner has dried, you can apply the paint within the outlined sections to achieve your desired effect.

Once heat set, the colours are wash-fast up to 60°C and can be dry cleaned without fading. To heat set, allow the paint to dry completely, then iron on the reverse side of the fabric or cover it with a tea towel and iron for 3-5 minutes using the cotton setting. Alternatively, you can wrap the fabric in aluminium foil and place it in a preheated oven at 150°C for 10-15 minutes.
